    Cool

I've been getting more and more into this guy's playing lately. Dude lays it DOWN on this track. Very reminicient of "Oakland Stroke", as Benny said in this here post. Really cool groove, great feel. Thanks a million Peter. As always, you are 'Da Man!

Yes, I love the drumming on this track. I agree the drums should be tucked a bit. Not just the kick, but the whole kit. The playing is awesome however.

Hass is one of those drummers that plays in so many different styles of music and can cop so many different styles "within" the styles, for example David Garibaldi type funk approach, or a Amir Thomson funk approach, or a Clyde Stubb funk approach, so on and so forth. And still sounds like Hass.
If you're an opinionated listener who only enjoys a few kinds of music, it's easy to get the wrong impression with Hass. You have to check him out in a style you enjoy, and go from there.

That was my experience. For instance, the band Lovepie. I think that's terrible. Hass is a freak though, do call the ambulance!

Been busy and only just catching up with some of these tracks in recent postings.

Boy. That was tastier than a tasty thing bought from the tasty counter at Mr Tasty's Emporium. The kit was forward in the mix - but not in a bad way. I loved it.

Another CD goes on the "to buy" list. I may need a memory upgrade for my PDA at this rate.

Just a reminder, Hass is at the Blue Note with John Scofield beginning on September 6. Anyone attending?

I just got Yaron Gershovsky's new one with Hass, Buddy Williams, and Cliff Almond. It's a little dated sounding but there's nice groove drumming by all.
